a good SSD has to support TRIM (or implement some TRIM-like behavior). all samsung based SSDs don't and over time they'll start to stutter. they also drag when performing small random writes. this recent article goes into the issues with SSDs and shows that the sammy isn't up to snuff compared with every other current SSD.

Hard to keep these article more than a few months current but the stutter issue was not an exclusive to that maker. Since flash has wear issues you should see this in every model RSN.

I'm just an embedded designer and author so wear leveling and wear avoidance is right up there on the top ten things we fret about in our designs and firmware.
