No no no. Far from the "saddest truth".
Mar 19, 2005 11:04AM PST

The saddest truth is that this particular cult of Republicans chose to expose the fact of blow-jobs to the little boys and girls of the whole world. How do you suppose they took, and still do take, this premature knowledge? Where is safety from the neos? Who is not to be sacrificed?

Lying and adultery are wrong

but not impeachable offenses.

I've often said that Clinton would have been considered a good president if he didn't have the morals of an alleycat (esp. in this day and age).

I remember JFK Jr. saying that his father probably wouldn't have run for president today because of today's spotlight.

Lying under oath, however ...
Mar 19, 2005 10:37PM PST

... is an entirely different issue. Leaving aside that any CEO or college administrator would have been out on their **** without a hearing for carrying on with Lewinsky at all, a court decided that the Paula Jones case against him had enough merit to go forward. Clinton deliberately sought to deny her her rights (and think what anyone may of Jones, she has/had rights too) by lying under oath.

If not for the dress, Clinton was prepared to have the full spin machine out to smear Lewinsky as some wide-eyed crazed stalker. This, more than anything, calls HIS versions of accounts into question.

Impeachment aside, I do believe that the 60 Minutes interview the Clintons gave before the election had the intent of assuring the American people that whatever his prior dalliances, he would not be repeating that while in office as President.

engages in obstruction of justice. Not commiting adultery would be nice, and let's hope there's not another generation of kids who are taught the fine points of lying by the President.

again, violence starts in the mind.
It then spread it wings to intimidate and provoke.
The final product is called CRIMES.

Whatever we are doing in Iraq...
Mar 18, 2005 9:52PM PST

seems to be working. If you have paid attention to the last couple of weeks/months, deaths of Americans are way down, The 'insurgency' seems to be petering out after some high profile arrests. The Iraqi people are fed up with the so-called "insurgents". The new Iraqi government is starring to jell and is gaining respect. Businesses are starting to thrive. Don't want to jinx anything, but at the 2 year mark there are many successes.

The naysayers and tear-downers are losing this one.

I sincerely hope so. We will have stayed the course.

Once we do, there will be less courses to stay.

I too look for positives in this war. But you have to look at all aspects of it. Playing the Pollyanna is stupid. The reports are mixed with both good and bad. We have to accept both. It really does pay to read different opinions, there are more sides than just ours.

Pakistan Test-Fires Nuclear-Capable Missile
Mar 19, 2005 5:24AM PST
Since they are out friends *right now* this is good news, yes?!

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan Saturday successfully test-fired a long-range, nuclear-capable ballistic missile, the latest in a series of tests in one of the world's flashpoints.

"Today, we carried out a successful test-firing of the indigenously developed Shaheen II missile," a military official told Reuters.

The missile could travel up to 2,000 km (1,200 miles) and carry all kinds of warheads, he said.

The military said Pakistan had informed neighboring countries about the test in advance -- a practice also observed by nuclear-armed rival India, which regularly tests its own nuclear-capable missiles.
