What will be next development in Smartphones?

Aug 1, 2016 1:16AM PDT

Hi guys, we are all using smartphones and using various features to make our life easier. Smartphone replaces many day to day devices like calender's, clocks, calculators, etc. I am wondering what would be the next development Smartphones will bring to us. Lets discuss.

For me that would be advances in the battery area. Daily charging is the pits.

You are right Profitt. The next great development should be to smaller and more efficient battery and super fast chargers.

I hear rumors that the Galaxy S8 might support 5G connectivity although there is no real support for this time on the networks. These speeds are somewhat overkill but would likely not need to be improved upon for quite some time. How much past 4K video can we go? The human eye probably can't even see this difference, especially on a small phone screen.

I also hear that there are some new battery technologies that last longer, charge faster, and are safer than the current LiPo batteries most use. We will see if these eventually come out but suspect that they won't for the S8 and other big flagship phones. Maybe the next generation of phones in 2018 will have this.

Sounds expensive

That is, throwing black smart phones might be stealthy and they are flying but I can't guess why I'd do this.

The Galaxy S8 may be relatively conservative after the fires

Samsung can't risk another disaster like this. One bad series of phones is understandable. If the next generation comes out with problems, people will abandon the brand of phone and go elsewhere. I personally was very disappointed with my LG although it never caught fire. Several others I know had similar problems with LG so I wouldn't buy another.

Some of the best rated car brands use slightly older technology. Buick was recently ranked highly. The new Honda Civic has a totally new engine and has been problematic. This is usually a very good car for the money but apparently not right now. I wonder if the Galaxy S8 won't be totally cutting edge in order to insure a safe and reliable phone.
