I'm a bit lucky (if you call writing router code in the 90's luck.) So there's never been a time I needed to make a call for support. I don't know who's been bad or good. (La la la, la la la al...)
If I were to shop a router today I'd find the INTERSECTION of what routers are on TWO LISTS.
1. CNET's list at https://www.cnet.com/topics/networking/best-networking-devices/802-11ac/
2. Amazon Best Sellers at https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Computers-Accessories-Computer-Routers/zgbs/pc/300189
What am I using today. 2 routers.
1. The ISP supplied UBEE which is surprisingly good.
2. The https://computers.woot.com/offers/linksys-ea9500-ac5400-max-stream-wifi-router by Linksys which was a steal when I needed my own router.
Hi I have a Netgear N600, which I like because it has good range about 50 through 1 or 2 walls but I have to reboot it about every month and my wife just got an AC laptop so I am thinking about getting an AC router and wanted to know what routers people have and why they like or dislike them. I think a discussion like this may help a lot of people trying to decide if they should upgrade their router and which ones people like and which ones do they not like as well as customer support the good, the bad and the ugly.
Thank you
