Question

What to Purchase

Apr 4, 2020 12:49PM PDT

I have a MacBook Air laptop. I am looking to buy a computer and monitor so that I can work at home using the Windows version of Excel, which I need to have access to at home because I am a finance professional. What would people recommend that I buy? And it isn't possible to just buy a monitor and keyboard that gives me access to the Windows version of Excel, is it?

Any new or recent Windows PC or laptop with any monitor would run any recent version of Excel, if you need that because the Mac version doesn't work for you (you didn't tell why, but let's assume you know and can't circumvent it).

Here I'm running Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Access) on a 2012 laptop with Windows 10 Pro (the HDD was replaced by an SSD). It even runs the Windows webserver I'm doing some development for in PERL. No problem at all, not even performance, except that the OS doesn't recognise the webcam, and macro's in Access 2007 aren't compatible with macro's in Access 2010 on my main PC.

Or install Parallels Desktop on your Macbook. See https://www.parallels.com
