But I would like to know if theres certain specs to look for. Like I always look at headphones specs on the packaging but I never really know what any of it means relevant to the headphones sound quality and bass reproduction.

i judge them by sound, construction, comfort, reviews, and cost. i would say though, in general, the greater the cost, the more fancy the specs. i have a pair of coby headphones that cost around $5 and sound very good. go figure.

I bought these Excell headphones that I don't think you can even buy anymore for 3 bucks and they we're the best headphones I ever bought and my friend bought the ear clips which we're also amazing. Although I find earclips from a few years ago tend to rock.
