What to do with my extra access point?

Nov 21, 2004 1:00PM PST

I had a wireless network set up just to use for playing MP3's from my computer to the stereo with a netgear 54Mbps wireless access pt and a bridge and I did not have DSL service but now I have SBC DSL and they have their own wireless access point so I'm stuck with an extra Netgear wireless access point. Is there any use for this or is the only thing I can do with it is sell it on ebay or use it as a coaster? I still use the wireless bridge to connect the audio mp3 player to the stereo. Can I hook up my sons PS2 to the wireless network? I don't think so. But that's why I'm asking Any help would be useful. Thanks Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Some models double as clients, some do not... As it stands, it's much like a coconut stand. Mayb ebay is a good idea. But at computergeeks you see Wifi-G routers below 35 bucks so you decide if its worth the time.

Thanks Bob What do you mean double as a client? you mean I could try to use it as a adapter on my kids PS2 so that he could play online games from the basement? And how would I check that. Thanks again

If you had noted the make/model, I would have looked at the maker's website. So that's what I suggest you do.

The manual for such may make more sense now that you've had Wifi for a while.
