But the recurring slugs I run into are machines that the owners didn't install the drivers for.
I thought I might post a general question to the good minds here. I am a long time IT/Windows tech and in the past month I have been working on two computers in particular that have me pondering . . .
Both systems are Intel/XP based and have at least 1 GB of DDR memory. I have checked all the usual things off the list: Ccleaner, thorough Virus/Spyware scans including Ad-Aware, Spybot, Trend Micro and the like. I have defragged, check disked and removed all memory hogging entries using msconfig and Startup Inspector. Despite all that and a few other things, these systems are comparably SLUGGISH. It flies in the face of reason, as these systems should be running optimal given their specs. Have any of you pros seen systems that match this description, and more importantly were you able to get them back up to speed?
