Question

What to delete on start up

Oct 1, 2018 4:37PM PDT

Im fighting a slow computer and working through various things I'm finding online to try to help. One thing is to disable items on start up, but I have no idea what is what (not too tech savy)! I don't want to be turning something off that I do need, but also don't want random stuff starting up, or running in the background. How do I know what's important, and what's not?!

Answer
There's no real list for this.

A clean install of W10 is actually very fast. My example is for a 2006 Dell Inspiron w/ 32bit dual core CPU, 1GB RAM, 120GB SSD and a clean install boots and gets on the web in 35 seconds.

Let's hear more about your PC and how long it took to start.

PS. And yes, there are lists out there.

Sounds complicated! I always worry things won't be backed up properly, etc! And as to your post about disabling update sharing, what is that exactly?
