Question

What tablet should I buy?

Jun 10, 2015 9:19PM PDT

I am looking to buy a tablet for school and am stuck between the following choices,Apple IPad Air 1, Samsung Tab 4 10.1 or Song Xperia Tablet Z. I really don't care about Android VS IOS, I have used both and work well with both, I just can't stand Windows on a tablet or phone. I'm looking for a tablet that will work for movies, school work, music, web browsing. Just kind of my everyday device pretty much. Which of those tablets would work best for this purpose? If you have any other suggestions I'm all ears, just again no windows, my windows phone has driven me to madness enough times. I'm looking to spend less than around $380 and buying used isn't at all out of the question.

I'm sorry if this isn't the proper place for this post, I looked around and this seems to be the right place if not, again I'm sorry.

School work is usually a problem.

While I like the Google Nexus models, there are students that thought they could get by with just a tablet. That doesn't work for any student so far.

I'm sorry

I should have been more specific, the tablet is meant to augment my laptop(HP Stream 11) I do most of my work on that but I meant the lighter work notes, word documents(with a keyboard). I had a nexus before and it just wasn't for me, not sure why but it just didn't "click" if that makes sense.

Then my bet is you want an iPad

Many end up with the mini and the keyboard to make a mini-laptop for typing in stuff.

galaxy note tablet

personally if I were going to purchase a tablet for school, it would be a galaxy note model . mainly because of its ability to take handwritten notes with ease. it was built for using a stylus and has one built in. Yep the others can also use a stylus but there will be issues.

IMO, if the note is not for you. find one that uses wacom drivers.

Of the 3(Samsung Tab S 10.5, Sony Xperia Z, and IPad Air) would work best for me? My notes will be typed, not handwritten. Which of those is the best for web browsing and entertainment?

For webbrowsing and entertainment you compare the apps available on iOS and Android now and in the next two years. Which ones do you like most?

Only if that's Android you'll have to choose between Samsung and Xperia, because you can download the same apps on them. But maybe there's a difference in what unique non-downloadable apps they come with, and you prefer one above the other for that reason?

iPad Air 2

I think you should try the latest Apple iPad Air 2. It gets an improved A8X processor, that provide you smooth performance. Apart from that, It has better rear and front facing cameras and thinner and lighter design, that you can carry easily everywhere. This tablet includes an anti reflecting screen, a touch ID fingerprint sensor, and more built in storage at higher configuration than previous model.

Go for Google Nexus.
Nexus devices are often among the first Android devices to receive updates to the operating system.According to me it is good among the others.
