Question

What Student Laptops To Get?

Jul 26, 2018 11:10AM PDT

I am a new student at a school where i'll need a new laptop to last me for at least 4 years with enough storage for my work and not too expensive at the same time. I have done lots of research but can't find anything suitable ? Plain
It would be so useful if anyones had any experience Grin

You need to clarify

No one can guess why what you found didn't meet your expectations.

I have run into folk that will overflow the now available 4TB laptop drives. For them they are waiting till that space increases. So tell more. As it stands, I have no budget, specs to work with.

-> 4 years is not possible today without accepting some repairs to get to 4 years. Unless maybe it's a Toughbook?

Research Problems

The hd graphics were very glitchy, trackpad mushy or poor looks and design were my main problems. Thank you for the help. I know of course that no laptop can be perfect in my price range but the trackpad and graphics are quite important to me.

I have bad news.

I have yet to find a trackpad I like. No one I know uses the trackpads except in a pinch. This means I doubt you will find a laptop with an acceptable trackpad. Well, maybe those Apples?

As to the HD graphics, we have some hundred plus laptops at the offices and home and don't have glitchy graphics. You were right to pass on any model that is glitching.

How about that CNET Cheapskate model (still won't give the trackpad a pass!) at https://www.cnet.com/news/back-to-school-laptop-deal-the-lenovo-yoga-710-for-550/
