More info needed to make a recommendation

We don't know your room specs, or other equipment/personal focus regarding the type of media or content you intend on enjoying. I could also say upgrade to XXX, but it may miss the mark dramatically, especially when a budget comes into play (hint, hint).

sorry for not including that information

My room is small, gaming/blu-rays and music from various sources would be played on it. The sub is the KEY part in my system please keep that in mind, in fact I wouldn't mind making my system a 5.2 or 7.2 setup If I could actually afford it even though the room is small. The money would be $600-$700. If my system could sell for a decent price I would add that to the price tag.

does no one have any information?

I really want to upgrade... BADLY but don't know how to go about it, there is so much information on the internet that I'm overwhelmed.

My guess is that you want folk to pick something for you. I see some detail but can't seem to find where the 5.1 to 7.1 sound is going to get to the new system.

We know that once it's digital, it's not a sound card issue so does your PC have optical out?
Something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G31E0614

Now with optical out you can use almost any receiver and speaker set but the room is small so skip 7.1 Read http://www.cnet.com/news/home-theater-speaker-placement-tips/

OK, how about this with the bundled receiver or the Panasonic noted at http://www.cnet.com/products/onkyo-sks-ht594/
