I'm typing on my old 600ter now. Disregard my little red m, but Acer handled the CDRW failure with speed and shipped me a new drive in 2 days. Beat the heck of shipping the laptop out.
The only downside could be that you can't customize this name like others, but I've found the unit to be as reliable as any other with the same OS. I did upgrade it to Windows 2000 and that fixed the OS issue and recently I popped in a new 30GB drive with great results.
I'd consider this name again.

Considering the purchase of an all purpose notebook for home use. Anyone have an opinion on Acer notebooks and, if so, which ones? Prefer to keep cost between $1500 and $2000. Anything less would be a bonus. Would appreciate any suggestions in addition to Acer.
