If you set to view system files, it should be in the c: drive. You can copy and paste it here if you don't know what the extra line is. Someone here will probably know.
Formatted Drive(Full), This AM Installed the Dell's OEM XP Home, went directly to Windows update, looked just like it always has. Installed the first exclusive Critical update for SP1. Rebooted as required and went to download the rest of the Criticals and I was taken to a V5.windowsupdate.com Page. Downloaded as directed on the newer looking site.
Next time I rebooted, I got that text splash that indicated an extra line was added to my Boot.ini. Selected the default Windows XP Home install. It then booted me to a fast switching Welcome Page with Owner as the login option.
I've blown this machine away before and never ran into this. Did I get spoofed? Has the XP Update page changed? Did I get a taste of SP2?
