What's the difference between DVD, digital and miniDV?

Feb 13, 2005 7:23AM PST

I'm looking at buying a camcorder, but I don't know too much about them. What's the difference between DVD, miniDV and digital? Which one is better? I'd like to be able to download the videos I record to my computer and then transfer them to DVD. Also, what's the cheapest media format, can you reuse the DVD's in the camcorder? Thanks for the help!
