What's the difference?

Hi All,

I've just got a new motherboard "ASUS M2N32 WS Professional" and I see that I have two IDE connectors.

One is driven by Nvidia the other by Marvell, the Nvidia connector is described as IDE the Marvell as EIDE, what does the E mean? Not external surely.

As I'm only going to connect the two optical drives which one do I use?

I'd appreciate any comments.

Hi guys,

I've answered my own queation, Enhanced or Extended IDE has been around for years, it's just that I've never noticed it before.

I guess old age is creeping up on me.
