What's the big deal.................

Jun 29, 2007 10:31AM PDT

"i Phone"

Only $600 per copy....without the 2 year maintenance plan.
The monthly service costs can run $60 per month, and up.

Must be a customer of AT&T.

Would you stay in line 24 hours for this bargain ?

From what I hear, that price is $100 too high, Del.

But the answer's still "no." OTOH, the hype is helping my investment in Apple stock do quite nicely, than you! Wink

If I was youger,.....

............ and had grown up in the days of computers, cell phones, Blackberries, laptops, HDTV, plasma and LCD TV screens, etc,, I probably would want an iPhone.

Cheaper color TV, CB radios for the public, and pagers seemed to be the epitome of technology to me.

I'm grateful that those expensive game boxes like Nintendo weren't around when my kids were growing up. Happy

From what some people pay for "must have" sneakers, the price doesn't seem that far out of line. Happy

Then you'll remember when the "highlight"
Jun 30, 2007 10:21AM PDT

of a family gathering was someone bringing out the old movie projector and showing reel after reel of jumpy home flicks. Sound?? The only sound might be uncle Jim snoring on the sofa after falling asleep during the second feature. So now, you just pass around your Iphones with your latest pix and videos. Same concept, new technology. Happy

My Dad filmed

everything in 8mm. Decades of us kids going off to school in September. So he had both ends: Filming and projection.
A treat was, when another batch of family stuff would come in, he would also rent a Woody Woodpecker and Johnny Mack Brown to show, as well.
I can almost remember the name of the company that stocked thousands of those titles. Long gone, of course; they must have thought they had a ... blockbuster of an idea.

The old company...

Could be; I remember that name too. But

Tower seems more likely. Anyway, you two can Google it if you want. I find that foggy memories are the best. Happy

No big surprize... and a reel tape recorder
Jun 30, 2007 11:46PM PDT

...... but I've still got the 8mm camera and projector. Never had a screen- we just showed them on a wall.

I've got 2 Castle films we have our kids( never sown).. "The Amazing Mets" (yes- the ball team) and an Abbott and Costello.

I also have a reel tape recorder.

I have no idea what shape any of the films we took are in now. It would be nice to have them converted, if I knew where they were. Happy

Still under 3 bucks here....

paid 2.88 the other day.

I'd love to have an iPhone if I could afford it, but I don't even use my cell phone.
