Are we talking uncrackable? Ease of use? Compatibility with standards?

In short, I can password protect a .ZIP file and place it on a CDR and that would do well.

Research PGP and what supports it. Downside? May prove difficult on the user.

I see Encrypt but can not figure how to Password protect a zip file?

It's an option with PKZIP. In fact, it's been an option for more than 10 years.

Other ZIP programs offer this feature too.
