If I wanted to broadcast live or send a live video signal to a computer, what would be the best cable to use for clarity/performance?

-Component Output: Mini D via A/V multi connector

-S-Video Output

-SDI Output: BNC, HD-SDI/SD-SDI selectable

-i.LINK IEEE 1394, 4-pin, HDV (HDV 1080i) / DVCAM stream input/output , S400

I'm serious. While I'd go for the digital connections first, what if your PC and software won't play with it?

Is there a standard?

Is there a "standard" that everyone uses to send a live feed? Just like how almost every computer device connects through USB, or how most HD devices connect to TV's via HDMI, etc...?

There are so many to choose from. HDMI while nice is not open for everyone to use for recording. In fact it's protocol and more is built to thwart recording. If you need to know more, look into HDCP.

Again, you use the connection that works.
