One turkey will be plenty thankful to land in the frying pan! That's "Frying Pan Park" in Fairfax County, Virginia, home of presidentially pardoned turkeys. But before retirement, the turkey is slated for a whirlwind trip to the White House then off to Disneyland.
In a tradition started in 1947 by President Harry Truman, the National Thanksgiving Turkey is "pardoned" each year.
The turkey is one of 30 raised on corn and soybean meal, and occasionally handfed, so that it is used to people.
