Hello everyone, this is my first post on the cnet forums and I figured this would be a good place to ask for some advice. I built a computer about 5 years ago and helped many people build their systems since then, but I have been out of the game for about 3 years now. My mobo is toast along with 2 of my HDDs, my vid card is outdated by 5 years, and, well, my processor has seen better days. Looks like its time to rebuild!
With that being said, I have NO idea what is hot on the market today. This PC will be strictly for gaming, so you guys know the deal. I hear some stuff about intel being way on top with their quad cores (i5 and i7's) and all this other jazz, but i have no idea whats good with video cards or ram or anything today! Can you guys give me a hand and let me know what is appropriate for gaming or what is on top these days? Don't worry about budget yet.. this is just hypothetical.
Thanks!!
