and not the frequency of the occurrence of these oddities so much as it is the frequency of the occurrence of the reporting of oddities. Maybe there are too many reporters and too few interesting stories available. It's sort of like when pharmaceutical companies run out of new drugs to make some minor physical nuisance suddenly gets a name and becomes a syndrome.
