What router would be best?

Mar 22, 2009 12:44AM PDT

I've never had anything but dial up and I need help. I'm getting my wife a new laptop and want to switch to Verizon DSL, most likely there 1 Mbps plan. Max. distance would be thirty feet in a one story house, but it is a old house with thick walls. Laptop specs; Vista home premium, Gigabit 10/100/1000 network card for XPS 1340, Intel 5100 wireless-N (1x2) Half Mini-Card.
It also has 365 Bluetooth Module (2.1) Low price is important, but I also want her to have a decent connection speed. We also have a desktop. I've been reading forums for weeks now an realize I know nothing about this, or maybe I'm making it too complicated but I don't think so. Sooooo many choices and I don't know what any of it means. Would I be better off getting two routers? Or is that even posibable on the same line?
Thanks

Why not get what Verizon supports

You can get a "Gateway (with wireless router) - $54.99" as part of your DSL package.
