Resolved Question

What processes/services to switch off during video editing

May 29, 2014 6:21AM PDT

Dear Cneters
I have a Dell dimension desktop with 100GB free disk space, and 1hour of video (approx800MB) to edit and burn to DVD.

I have plenty of disk space but only 1GB RAM. Are there any processes or services that I can safely terminate to free up the maximum amount of memory for editing?

(I will not be on-line during editing so won't need firewall,anti-virus etc). Also, can I assume that when I have finished editing, I just need to re-boot and all previously stopped programs will restart?

Many thanks
HJ

Google up BLACK VIPER XP SERVICES so you can investigate what you can do without.
