Only what you can't lose.

The maxim I hold dear is...

"We only lose what we didn't backup."

I would backup any files that are 16 bit because Windows XP Doesn't like 16 bit apps.....Otherwise, i really wouldn't worry!!!!!!!!!!

i thought you can't directly upgrade WinME to WinXP? If this is true then you'll surely lose all programs installed in ME coz your gonna have to do a clean install.

I have tried upgrading lots of times but in the long run it's Russian Roulette. If you've had ME issues with your computer, you wil definately run into them again sooner or later. Not all that needs to be replaced will be replaced by the upgrade, especially if the software ain't Microsoft. I'd backup the data, make sure I have all the program discs and license numbers, zap the drive during the XP installation. An upgrade is like leaving the bottom layer of trash in the can, it'll eventually stink!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
