What Notebook should I get for this?

Oct 5, 2005 4:51AM PDT

I'm looking to buy a notebook that I can use to watch DVD movies on while i'm on lunch at work or at vacation...I'd also like to be able to play single player games on it. I'm not talking like the really high end games..just maybe strategy games and what not. Something that has a 3D card in it so I can play said games. I'm not looking for anything high-tech. But it has to be AT LEAST a 2.5 processor and a good quality screen. (video card must be either ati or nvida..somewhat modern, but not new new)

I'm also not looking to spend more than $500. The cheaper the better. Is there anything out there like that? I figure what i'm looking for is going to be quite a bit older with those stats..so hopefully there is something out there for me?

If there are any models like that out there, they're likely to be very crappy. Increase your budget... significantly.

If you can give up gaming, however, look out for deals at your local electronics stores. When you see some laptop for less than $500, it should suffice for just DVD watching.

What about portable DVD players?
