what mini dv should i buy????

Apr 5, 2005 7:34AM PDT

i have a problem. this is the first time buying a minidv camecorder. i am shooting a docunmentary in the middle east and i know there is the system diffrence. so that is that. then i read all the review from the cameras i like and can't get to decide. when i think i found A good one, the battery life turns out bad or not good in low light, or most of all out of stock. and then i really get confused about the quality of the image i am looking for since i am not sure where the documentary is ending up, it's an independent project, so therefore i am not really looking for a commercial value as much as educational so maybe a TV station can be interested.
i can spend up to $2500, maybe a bit more with accessories.
so my problem is i know what i am using it for but i am affraid to pay all my money and get a camera that would die on me, and give me an embarrassement when interviewing people. it is very important that i get a good cameara that is let's say an average/standard acceptable for a semi-pro. i have never used a camerabefore, but i am a photographer and i acted in a movie so i am familiar with the concept of minidv cameras, especialy after reading a hundred reviews.
if any one can help me out here fast i would really appreciate it. i need to buy a camera before the weekend or max, by monday.
sincerely roody.

When you at B&H also look at the Panasonic cameras in this price range. John
