What kind of TV do i have

by zangraa / July 27, 2009 1:22 AM PDT

Hi All,

I'll make it short. (escuse my english if...)
I bought my Samsung plasma PS42A450P1 in April of this year; and i had a problem with the picture, depending on the input the display was different.I called the service partner of samsung, present here in Algeria, and they came the next business day.

They called the problem "Black screen", and told me that they have to take the tv to their repair center.

The next day, they bring the tv repaired.

Until here, everything is fine, BUT what make me confused, is that before reparation, the native resolution detected by the nvidia graphic card of my pc was 1024x768 and now it's 1366x768.

I have to many questions to ask, but the main is what is the best resolution to use since the panel is natively a 1024x768.

zangraa,

I'm not sure why it would change detected resolutions. I'd probably choose the resolution that gives you the best picture quality.

I might also bring this up with the service center in Algeria, and see if they can assist further.

Hi --HD_Tech,

The techniciens talked about defective main board. Is it possible to swap for example a main board of a 42" panel by the one of 50". I just want to understand so that i'll not die idiot.

zangraa,

I'm not sure I understood the question. From what I know, the main boards are specific for each model, and likely, in each size. I have no way of verifying this.

Hi --HDTech,

Googling the subject, before landing in this forum, some "specialists" said that a 42" panel can't have a resolution of 1368x768. Since we can't know how much a "specialist" is specialist in the internet world, that why, i'm trying to understand.
Many Thanks

zangraa,

This is probably a conversation that you'll want to have with the technicians that worked on your panel. I can't speak to the compatibility of internal parts.

Hi HD_Tech,

I worry because the red is orange and the yellow is greenish, that's why i didn't asked the technicians; anyway i follow my investigations, the solution is in the calibration and i know that it isn't so easy...
I understand that you're a profesionnel and can't help me in that way.
Thanks

Best Regards

Zangraa
