Some more questions to narrow down the search:
- HD or not ?
- what is the source (what camera), what format does it have (you want the software to be able to recognize it without prior conversion)?
- freeware or paid; if so, what is your price limit?
- Microsofts MovieMaker is free (comes with Windows Vista, downloadable as part of Windows Live software, 2011 edition). Is that good enough for you or do you need more?
