What is wrong with my computer?

I have a HP DV1000, and recently I ran Avast virus scanner and basically cleaned house and eliminated any threats...

Then I proceeded to use CCleaner since my computer was being a bit slow and that freed up some space and made my computer a bit better...

But...then, when I would go watch a youtube video, the video would stream, but then freeze for a split second as the audio continued. It would then jump to where it's suppose to be and continue, and freeze and repeat.

Typing here, and on AIM...the cursor freezes while i'm tying and then magically appears where It's suppose to be while I'm still typing..

So I got this thing called System Mechanic because I figured some registry files got deleted or owned by Ccleaner...it repaired the files and such, but this stuff is still happening...

On top of that...web pages like Answers.Yahoo.Com aren't appearing properly...it's a blank white background with big letters and links scattered everywhere...

What's wrong?
