Question

What is wrong with my computer?

May 24, 2019 9:25AM PDT

Hello everyone, recently my computer has basically just stopped working. Basically, when I turn it on the fan connected to the processor fluctuates, and the fans connected to the graphics card do not turn on. Also, when I turn it on, it beeps about every second. It does not turn on and I have no clue what is wrong with it.

The next step is to make it smaller.

This assumes some basic PC knowledge such as what the cards do, what you can remove and how the PC will react.

They symptom matches what happens with a case short (what is, is on the web but you as a PC tech would know this or a beginning their first repair google more) or a failing or overloaded PSU. If you are not familiar with PC parts then maybe it's time to get a repair estimate or what another PC costs.

Answer
It Would Help If We Knew More About The Computer

Make and model, laptop or desktop, operating system installed, etc. The more information you give us, the better informed our answer will be.

In the meantime, if this is a desktop computer and because of the symptoms, we would swap in a known good power supply to see if that is the culprit.

Hope this helps.
