From the top of the forum post listing;

Say no to boxed software! Almost every application you need is on the Web, and probably for free. CNET's Webware forum is the best place to talk about Web 2.0 sites and services and get advice from a community of experts. Discussion topics include free alternatives to Windows software, free alternatives to Mac software, Web applications, Web 2.0, Web services, social networking, mash-ups, cloud computing and services, iPhone applications, and other browser-based software apps.

I hope that helps.

Mark

With webware in this forum we mean programs that runs on the web and that you access from a browser on your PC. Could be a cloud application like salesforce.com or gmail.com or some service you upload a pdf-file to and get a Word document back from.
