Question

What is Wanna cry ransomware? Is it still spreading out?

Mar 23, 2018 4:47AM PDT

The WannaCry ransomware was a massive cyber-attack in the year 2017. It targeted Microsoft Windows operating system and profited huge amounts of ransom in Bitcoin cryptocurrency. More than 200.000 computers across 150 countries were severely affected. The damage figures are in hundreds of millions to billions of dollars.
Fortunately, cyber experts chased down to the spread of WannaCry ransomware and shut it with immediate force. However, clone versions of WannaCry ransomware already started to evolve long back. Thus even though there is no WannaCry, there is no assurance about other evolving malware.
