Question

What is this?

Aug 8, 2016 3:51PM PDT

I have an 2011 ASUS laptop that has a plastic part that pops out of the left side like an SD card would and appears to be some type of holder for a type of memory stick. It's a little less than 3" long and 1 1/4" wide, with a depressed area that would fit an object about the size of two SD cards end to end 2 1/2" X 1 1/8" Anyone have any ideas. Just picked this up from a friend that replaces his every year and was cleaning his closet out. I have had several and never seen one of these.

Otherwise I can't tell what it is.

Older laptops had PCMCIA and PC-CARD slots and these did not hold anything. Just a dust cover.

It's either B43F or 843F, print is very small and faded. If it is just a dust cover, I've never seen one like it. Thanks

Could it be the Business Card Holder?

Specs show a lot of card slots.

I think it must be a PC-card slot. I've just never seen a filler piece like this before and never had much use for the slot itself. Thanks for your input and help.
