What is this error message and why does it flash so quick?

When I boot up my computer I get this quick flash of an error message window that reads "Catalyst Control Centre Monitor not responding" or something like that. It goes so fast that I have trouble catching it all. Now I am pretty sure that the catalyst control centre is something to do with the ATI graphics? I have this in an HP Pavilion p6620f PC with an AMD Phenom II 820 Quad-Dore Processor 64 bit 6GB DDR3, 1TB. ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics card. Any ideas?

You're on the right track

What you might do download the latest ATI Catalyst and driver package for the HD 4000 series from AMD. Uninstall the old and reinstall the new. Personally, I don't use the Catalyst Control Center with my ATI based graphics card but that's up to you. If you don't know what it is, you can delete it and just keep the driver as well.

Wow!! It worked

Thanks for the info! I downloaded the new driver and uninstalled the old. I still do not know if it really matters with the monitor I use however the dumb little error message does not pop up all the time anymore and that is all I care about!! I know this makes me sound like a real novice and I totally am, but I really love this site. I am sure there are about 100 others that are just like it however I heard my expensive IT guy say Cnet and I went home and looked it up and it was like an Oprah Ah Ha moment ( and I can't stand me some Oprah). All this great information and to someone who never learned this stuff in college it really helps. Just to be able to understand all this jargon and like I am starting small and fixing little things, pretty soon I will not need the expensive IT guy which is great because I am now a small business owner and I need to keep as much of my green as possible! So excuse me if I am blushing but this is my current pot of gold.... Silly
