Question

What is the issue with blu ray player?

Mar 15, 2016 8:15PM PDT

I recently purchased a DMP-903 blue ray player. I began playing disc 3 of my Desperate Housewives sets. On 1 out of 4 episodes on the disc two of the scene s have picture break up, where blocks appear in the frame. I put the disc in two other DVD players there was no pixelation. I also tried it on a Sony blu ray player and still no pixelation. I know I was told that my blu ray player has a very sensitive lens so things that could not one player could bother it. The pixelation occurs in select scene s each time. Could someone please put my mind to ease? I would hate to feel I have to return a brand new blu ray. Please help.
Thank you

Answer
This requires another player to figure out.

As you may have only one player you need a second to see if it's the player or the media.

I have tried on one DVD player and one Blu Ray player. It only occurs on the particular scene in my Blu Ray. I am trying to figure out why.

Since it's OK in the DVD player

You now have to ask Panasonic to fix it or exchange it as a badly designed product.

Any idea why the pixelation only occursvon certain scenes?

Because the video decoder has a flaw.

Remember you didn't correct me that it was OK on the DVD player.

Yes it played with out pixelation on the DVD player. I played another DVD separate from the boxset and it played through just fine with out pixelation.

It still means a video decoder is flawed.

It can't handle the video on that disc and scene.

Would it help if I got a new copy the set?

Sometimes.

I found a set with an error and the error was in other sets.

Finally gave up and got a refund and paid for it on Amazon.com streaming.
