Question

What is the fastest format for a usb drive?

Dec 27, 2014 1:03AM PST

I have a 16 gb geeksquad usb drive. Is the Fat32 file format quicker for a drive that only has thousands of pictures on it than a NTFS format or some other kind?

Answer
Use NTSF for USB

If you plan ti use USB in typical IBM PCs then NTSF is better. Fat32 will work as you know but it isn't as robust to maintain your data. Otherwise, when it comes to speed, it really isn't going to matter under USB, plus a "quick format" is an option either way, unless you switch formats using windoze. Also, you should look into HP formater pgm., it presents formatting options that may help better understand what's being done.

OK but what about those rather bad

Download.com is still bundling unwanted apps in their downloader. Goodness knows we tried to avoid those bundles and download.com support is well, beyond belief.
