If your receiver and speakers aren't super high end you may not even notice the difference with analog. Try it and see. if you can;t discern the difference with your own ear, then I guess its not worth worrying too much about.
I have a Big screen TV and and Sony Amplifier. Is there a difference if I run my audio through my TV first and then to my amplifier or just straight through to my amplifier?
I'm asking because of 2 reasons. The first is that I never take advantage of HDMI sound. I use HDMI for video but I will usually run RCA cables from the source to the amplifier.
The second reason is that I am tired of being cable extenders. Will all my sources (Xbox, Wii, HDTV) I have to use RCA cable extenders because hooking up both Video to TV and then audio to Amp will never reach without RCA extenders.
I have a Toshiba 62HM196 and a old Sony 575W amplifier.
