My opinion is that should read "Ways" (plural)

For me I can install the OS and apps so I only need my files. A backup of my user folder is all I need. Since copying files and folder is a basic computer skill, that's all I need then I can put this on a few sticks or USB drives.

More than one copy, make it hard to kill.

But the USB is not a Reliable Backup device because of if your USB is corrupt or may be loss the date will be lost

That's why Bob said: make more than one copy.

And don't store them on the same place.

This is one of the reasons I make them hard to kill.

Most of the time the reason the USB fails is my own error. So I have extra copies.

OK, how many?

2 USB 3.0 2TB HDDs. These were cheap under 99 bucks each.
2 USB 64GB memory sticks. Because the drives are complete images this holds my stuff I can't lose and want to sync more often.
Then a few projects up on Dropbox. Mostly source code which is puny. So this is my fifth copy!

Cloud back up&external device backup

If the total size of your files is not too big. Both cloud and external device are recommended for double security. Cloud storage service is quite mature, many of them provide encrypted file backup. And then for external device backup. Some free backup softwares can be help to copy the files in your OS to external added movable devices.
