The biggest issue facing tablets (as an owner of multiple) is that a lot of the applications were developed for smaller screens on cell phones. I find Android to be the worst for this.
However for school, taking notes and portability between Word/PP/XLS etc I would suggest the Playbook, however not having a blackberry phone makes integration a bit of a hassle. I big downfall of the product.
Secondary to that, I find the IPAD to be the least useful for integration with school related word and other products.
Android is probably my second best suggestion, however a lot of the apps, as I said, simply arent developed and ready for 7-10''+ screens which is a big turn off.
Perhaps a netbook is more reasonable.
Goof luck with your studies.
Hi, I am starting my sophomore year in college. I am looking for a wi-fi tablet (not 3G) that I can download textbooks on, take notes on, schedule on, and also use a scanner wand with to put handouts directly into my notes. I am looking for something I can use to eliminate taking so much to school!! I feel very scattered and would like to have everything in one place. I have seen some cheaper models like the Pandigital Android. Would something like that work or do I need something more like the Motorola Xoom or do you have any specific suggestions? P.S. Not a big apple fan. I would prefer Android based.
