Question

what is the best solution for dumping my mixed hd/sd mini dv

Jun 22, 2012 4:23PM PDT

I have an enormous amount of mini dv tapes with standard and hd footage shot with multiple camera's as I'm ex film student and shot with many different cameras. I'm looking at dv decks but those things are expensive $700 plus used... Is there a more budget conscious solution and still retain high quality footage as I'm getting it ready to edit on fcp. I know i could go get a dv video camera but I would run into the problem of not being able to use it for all my footage as I said earlier I've used many different cameras to shoot with. Please help, is there a store or website that's letting the hd dv decks go for a more reasonable price now that everyone's shooting and capturing with hd camera's on little memory cards?

Aside from the the DV rack, Could you just dump everything on your computer? If not, then what method do you use to play them?

Answer
Most decks cost more than the camcorder.

What's the damage for the camcorder to play this?
