Question

What is the best OS for ease of use - android or iOS?

by HVZONE / August 24, 2016 11:33 PM PDT

Hi, my mother in law would like to get a tablet to keep in touch with us via Skype or FaceTime etc and for general Internet use. However she is completely IT illiterate and so requires the easiest to use and setup tablet going! What are the views on which OS to go for, iOS or android and also any particular models that are recommended would be helpful. We are not looking to spend very much either, it only needs to be a basic device and nothing too large in size?

I use both and each are nice to use.

The thing here is that the OS does not seem to matter once I pull up Skype. It works the same on both. Where did you see a difference?

iOS

I think if it's for communication purposes only, iOS is much easier to use since she only needs to press one button unlike the Android where there are three buttons. And based on my experience, iOS is more responsive than Android. My father is IT illiterate too but when he had his iPad, he knows how to surf net now. I only taught him once. Happy

iOS is the best

According to me, iOS is the most easy to use OS, it is straight forward and has clean user interface. Meanwhile, in android, it always asks for different permissions while using some apps, while browsing on internet if we reach accidently on any spammy website, it automatically starts downloading useless apps, it may cause trouble for seniors. That's why I always prefer iOS.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
