My % of time on family desktop has been squeezed due to kids homework. I would like to buy a laptop that could carry me in case my desktop went down but has the ability to play Blu-ray movies / some photo work. What is the best size ? I would like a backlit keyboard, a good sound system, and a little style. I've read Sony's F-series has a loud fan and HP's Envy runs a little hot and has freeze up issues. I'm not a huge gamer but play some. 3-D is not out of the question but not necessary. Price range $1K-1.5 I wish cnet had a few more divisions of preferences there seems to be a gap between desktop replacements and gaming laptops. Thanks-
