Meant to chime in yesterday. Basically, download camera originals in the largest format you can (Raw, TIFF) to capture the most information, LEAVE it in that format as an original. Do not change it around as some suggest, you
DO lose quality. These files will be large. Get used to it. That is why I have a DVD burner and plenty of discs.
If an image is not good enough for TIFF, a GOOD photographer will delete it. Edit your files as needed if
space is an issue. When you edit an image (a copy, not the original) to suit a purpose, save as a size
for that purpose. My point and shoot will only save as
jpeg, so be it. An original can be re-edited many time, in many different ways. Good luck. chuck
after i edited the picture, what is the best file format to save for pic printing, such as tiff, bmp, gif, jpg?
thanks.
