If you want quality at low light levels, get the Sony HC90.
I have been reading the forum questions/comments regarding the choices made for choosing camcorders but once a year my daughter has a dance recital that is in dimly lit conditions - what is the best camcorder to accomplish this job? I am a novice and would use the camera occasionally, would desire to manipulate the device primarily by zooming in on my subject. I would also use it when she plays in the band (also indoors). I would take the resulting video and download to my computer via USB (so recommend on that has this capability) and then burn a DVD most likely. I was considering the Canon Optura 60 (since it's been so widely talked about and recommended), the Sony DCR-DVD 403 (since it appears to be the newest with the most capability), and the Panasonic PV-GS250 (just because it was rated high in the list of editor's picks). Can anyone make a quick recommendation - the dance recital is next week!!!!
