It's an old programming language w/history of bugs. Avoid..

...if you can. Most things these days don't need it, but there are still a few that do. If you try to run one of these, it will tell you that you need Java. If so you can download it from here: . Like I say though, avoid it if you can.

What is Java?

Instead of asking this here, why don't you find the relevant information on Google by yourself? Wikipedia would be helpful to let you know each and every thing about Java.
