That does look like a good deal. However, think of Nvidia's LE as a value edition card, because it is. It is a very stripped down 6800. The GeForce 6800 LE only has a total of 8 pipes, but you can unlock it to 16. Also the memory is only DDR as compared to DDR3 with the other 6800's. I would like to see how this card compares to a regular 6600 and maybe the GT. I know the GT will be the better card. However it is more $$$. But overall, the 6800LE does look appealing.

Yeah...

Yeah, you think I should get it? It's only 128MB though, which I am worried about.

(NT) (NT) It's the cheapest card that can go SLI, as well.

I Googled Nvidia Geforce 6800LE and came up with alot.
Here's a good review of the card, as well as some stock benchmarks. With all it's pipelines unlocked it looks to be a great deal.

After comparing Tom's Hardware VGA charts...

Lol I've been very intrigued by your question because I never really looked at the 6800LE before.

I compared some of the numbers from t-break's benchmarks to Tom's VGA Charts.

Unreal Tournament 2004
-No AA/AF 1024x768

GeForce 6800 154.7
GeForce 6600GT 152.3
GeForce 6800LE 150.67
GeForce FX 5950 Ultra 149.9
Radeon 9800 148.9
GeForce 6600 124.5

-So from the Unreal Tournament score, the 6800LE is just under the 6600GT but way over the regular 6600. Not too bad.

The card seemed to fair well in some areas, but in others it didnt. Overall, I think for something near 6600GT performance for $30-40 cheaper, I would go with the 6800LE. Unlocking the other 8 pipelines will certainly improve the performance greatly. The User Reviews on Newegg are all positive and the card was given 5 eggs out of 5. I just may buy one lol.

nah, i'd go 6600GT

you can't go sli as its agp.

note that not all cards can unlock the pipes.

i dunno, if it was me, and my money, i would either shell out for a true 6800, or get the 6600GT.

Well...

I forgot the card was AGP. I was reading an article that spoke of Nvidia creating PCIE 6800LE's SLI compatable. Never happened. It seemed Nvidia created this card originally for OEM, but they offered it to the public.

Some things I have pulled up...

"On the bench, the 6600GT is quite a nifty card. It only ever loses out to the 6800LE on AA and memory bandwidth; if anything, the AF is rather superior. Without AA/AF enabled, the 6600GT kicks the 6800LE in the nuts all down the line.."

"The 6800LE would be almost the exact same as a 6600GT performence, except when you go above 1024x768, the 6800 will start getting the higher numbers."

"The conclusions are not going to be one-one. Of the trinity of cards that we tested today - 6600GT, 6800LE, and 9800 PRO - there are two favorites. Each offers its own indisputable advantages and of course shortcomings."

"6800LE's "plus number one" (the most important) is the capability of enabling the pipelines. But after testing merely a single 6800LE card it's hard to talk about some sort of statistics, but if you succeed in getting what we got today and the card runs as 12x1/6 VP, you can dance with joy about the superb performance you acquire with those 250$+(Now only $125) you spent for the card."

Here are some Benchmarks

At full potential an 6800LE with unlocked pipelines will certainly perform better than a 6600GT. The Benchmarks prove it. At stock the 6800LE will perform alittle under a 6600GT. The ability to unlock the pipelines is not definite with every card. Luck has to be on your side.

And to think I never knew this card existed...learn something new everyday.
