what is a is a iso image file

im looking for a program to burn a video on a dvd and i find that the program burns dvd's, but it doesn't say anything about videos. It talks alot about iso image files an i don' what that is.

I'll add that I use CDBURNERXP to write most ISOs that I've made.

What else you should know is that a new search engine called GOOGLE.COM could have made short work of your research on this.
