"Replace with genuine Ford parts."
If you think this means it must be a Ford part then we don't have much to discuss. You didn't reveal the size of the HDD and more importantly you didn't tell if you had the restore media ready.
So let's get a HDD up on the table for discussion. Remember these are fungible.

How about this one?

I currently have a HP Pavillion DV6500 its a bit old but my kids use it for learning games and watching netflix. They use it on a daily basis. Month ago the hard drive went out on it i tried taking it in they told me to just buy a new laptop that it would cost way to much to fix it.
The hard hard drive has a sticker that says "Replace with HP Spare" what does that mean? The laptop was running a Seagate Momentus 5400.3 im looking for a good compatable hard drive that can fit into the laptop right now. And one that one cost an arm and a leg.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.
