What is a good, but cheep, battery back-up to use with TV?

Feb 21, 2006 12:29AM PST

I have a sony rear projection tv with a home theater system and would like to find a very reasonably priced battery back-up to power the fan of the TV should the power fail. Any suggestions?

Look for one that has at least 600VA, more is better, $80~100 on sale.
Belkin, Cyber power, APC are brands I have.
Check the sale fliers, You can get them online, but since they are heavy the shipping charges can be high. John

Cheap? Like $99?

If you live by a Costco and consider $99 cheap for a combo battery back-up, surge protector and voltage regulator that is heavy and won't move around, it's black in color with a cool looking blue LED and can either be set vertically or horizontally; check out the Tripp-Lite unit they have. This is a $200 list price component and an excellent brand.

I liked this unit so much I went back and got two more for my two home theater systems and my computer set-up.
